Welcome To Hawick Online

Welcome to Hawick Online, the website for the friendliest and most welcoming town in the Scottish Borders.

Hawick sits on the main A7 trunk road – the historic route between Carlisle and Edinburgh – at the junction of the rivers Slitrig and Teviot in the heart of the beautiful Borders countryside.  Our town is steeped in history and tradition – a history and tradition which we celebrate at various local festivals throughout the year.

But while there is much to celebrate in our past, there is much to celebrate in our present and not just the sporting prowess of our rugby team “The Greens”. Hawick has world-wide reputation for quality in the textiles and knitwear trade with many household names, while many more high-quality products demonstrate an original and inspirational talent.  “Made in Hawick” is a quality mark.

Our town has much to offer  good leisure, good shopping, good food, and good living.

Take a look at our website, and see what we have to offer.  Better still, why not pay us a visit!

EBIKE Rental Survey….

Hawick Development Trust (formerly Future Hawick) is supporting a new initiative for the town ,Teri Bikes, bike rental. This will mean towns folk and eventually visitors to the town will be able to access low cost bike hire both E-bikes and conventional bikes as well as maintenance classes and safe riding lessons.
As part of the support package the Trust is launching a survey to help determine demand and therefore the number of bikes that will be needed.
The survey will open up on Hawick Online  Monday 25th September and will be open for two weeks it will also be accessible on the Future Hawick facebook page.
“Chair of the Trust Colin hope said “Its important that we get a good understanding of the demand for low cost bike rental so Teri Bikes are in a position to help as many people to get out and about and enjoy the many benefits of cycling without the outlay of having to buy bikes.”
