MDL (Borders) Limited have been operating as a company in the Scottish Borders since April 2004. Part of the MDL Group, based in Devon since 1992, the Scottish arm of the business was formed to carry on the tradition of sympathetic rural development in the Scottish Borders area.
MDL (Borders) Limited are a company that specialize in the sympathetic conversion of unused rural and agricultural buildings and the construction of rural homes that both reflect the environment at a global and local level, and the requirements of modern homebuyers. The construction uses, wherever possible, original, reclaimed and locally sourced materials, and is in keeping with their immediate surroundings.
MDL (Borders) Limited are very aware of the impact that conversion and construction of property can have on the relatively fragile ecosystem and use state-of-the-art biomass water and sewage treatment systems that have little or no detrimental effect on the local balance. Additionally, heating systems are designed to utilize local materials and reduce the reliance on fossil fuels, and work in conjunction with the advanced level of home insulation fitted to the properties, that both meet and ideally exceed current building regulations.
