Drumlanrig Out of School Club offer quality, affordable childcare for 3-12 year olds. The club was set up by headmistress and parents who recognised a need for childcare in the area. We are a registered charity with all our income going back into the running of the club.We had financial support from New Opportunities Fund (Lottery), the Hawick Partnership (European Funding), Hawick Common Good Fund, Scottish Borders Council Community Support Fund, Vulnerable After School Club Fund, (SBC), and school fundraiser.
We designed and built an afterschool club, under the back shelter of the school. The club is managed by a voluntary committee of parents. The day to day operation of the club is managed by a qualified play leader and two qualified play assistants. We are open at 8am for the breakfast club. When the school children go to class at 9am, we run a wrap around service for 3-5 year olds who attend the drumlanrig pre school. This service is available all day. The after school group runs from 3.15pm to 5.30pm. Children are collected from the playground.
As well as the daily healthy snack and homework help we offer a wide variety of activities and opportunities to cover the 3 to 12 age range. From arts & crafts, sports, tactile play, role play, computer, dance, baking and many more. During holiday periods these are more expansive and include outings/day trips. Drumlanrig Out of School Club welcomes all children outwith Drumlanrig (including holidays).
