Writing courses operate in conjunction with our publishing interests. We expect to offer a variety of writing courses based in Hawick in the beautiful Scottish Borders. Topics will include writing for the camera, writing for magazines, writing a thriller, and so forth.
In the summer of 2007, Scotch Mist Books will run a series of short weekend writing courses in the town of Hawick in the beautiful Scottish Borders. The courses, which run from 9 am to 5 pm Saturday and Sunday, are designed to fit in with your holiday plans. The courses are suitable for those who have no or limited writing experience and will cover such topics as magazine journalism, the short story, the novel, and writing scripts for radio and TV. Depending on the interests of each group, we can concentrate upon specific topics. Courses will run each weekend from June until September inclusive. Each weekend course costs £100 per person and includes tuition notes as well as morning and afternoon refreshments. A £10 deposit per person books places on the course. Accommodation is available through Hawick Tourist Information Centre at Drumlanrig's Tower (April to October) or by phone at 0870 608 0604.
