Artbeat Studios is a registered charity (SC035119) founded in 2004 with the aim of promoting the welfare of those in the community who are socially excluded by reason of physical or learning disability, mental illness, age, poverty or other condition of need. Although these are our primary aims, we are open to anyone with an interest in the arts.
We provide a supportive environment for artists of all abilities. External notions of success or failure are not applied; rather, success is defined by the artists themselves and the pleasure in doing so.
We provide facilities and materials, along with the assistance of a resident artist for the following arts: sketching, painting (watercolour, acrylic, etc.), papier mache, etc.. Also, a local professional photographer runs digital photography classes, a musician runs a guitar group, and an experienced textile designer runs an arts and crafts group.
Our sessions run for two hours in the morning and the afternoon - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and for photography on Monday evenings.
