Hawick Summer Festival

Description:

The long-running Hawick Summer Festival has been revamped and reinvented this year and looks set to be a huge hit with all ages.

The annual event is once again forming part of the town's August calendar, but this year the Festival features a host of new events - and is sure to put the sizzle into everyone's summer.

Details for last year were as follows. This year's programme will be updated soon.

The festival fun began on Saturday August 18 2007 with a special opening ceremony at Trinity Gardens, when the young Flower Princess opened proceedings. The popular Fetes, coffee mornings, 10K road race, and guided walks made a welcome return.  Also returning were the popular Italian, Chinese and Indian special discounted nights to name but a few. But look out for the Quiz Night, as well as an original Festival event - the Pram Race.

These are only a few of the events detailed in the busy programme, however as the Festival draws to a close it is guaranteed to end in style, with the extravaganza that is 'Party on the Pitch'. On Saturday August 25, the town's Volunteer Park came alive with live music from a host of local bands, as well attractions including a climbing wall, trampolining, bungee run, slides and bouncy castle.
