Description: The Borders Exploration Group is a non-profit making organisation run by a group of volunteer adults for the benefit of young people between the ages of 16 – 25, and living in the Scottish Borders. The objectives of the group are – to help broaden horizons and educate by means of providing outdoor activities of an enterprising, challenging and exploratory nature and in doing so provide an invaluable character- building experience. This is achieved by organising international expeditions of between two and five weeks; these expeditions are of a very structured nature and include work on Community based projects, Adventure projects, Science and Environmental projects and Social phases. All expeditions are self-financing with fund-raising initiatives forming a large part of the overall experience.
