Border Hillsides and Rugged Shores:Paintings by E Judith Murray and Sandra Evans (ongoing)

A selling, visual arts exhibition of paintings in oils and mixed media by two artists from Hawick in the Waterfall Gallery in Hawick Museum.

The artists are contemporaries and were friends at school, but have followed different life courses; one remained in Hawick as an Art and Design teacher and the other now living in South Wales.

These landscape paintings by Sandra Evans and Judith Murray, born artists Hawick born, went to school together, and have been close friends for more than 50 years.

Sandra has a lifelong love of painting but began to take her art more seriously 15 years ago. She works in oils and is inspired by the seascapes near her home in South Wales and the landscapes she holds dear around Hawick.

Judith was an art and design teacher in Hawick High School for more than 30 years and now concentrates on her mixed media paintings of what she sees as she walks, rides or drives in the hill country around Hawick.
