Museums exist to ‘collect, care for and conserve objects of historical and cultural importance and to make these
available for public viewing, education and research through exhibitions and events.’
Museum Collections consist of objects from many sources including donations, bequests, purchases, transfers from
other museums and Treasure Trove finds. This exhibition gives a glimpse into the most recent acquisitions that have
been added to the Hawick Museum Collection from costume and jewellery to paintings and souvenirs.
