Rhona Mühlebach’s ‘The River, The Horse and The Woman’
29th March 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 12th April 2019 @ 8:00 pm
Exhibition of Rhona Mühlebach’s ‘The River, The Horse and The Woman’, commissioned in 2019 by Alchemy Film & Arts, opening night on 29 March in Hawick and runs until 12 April! All Welcome!
Rhona Mühlebach’s ‘The River, the Horse and the Woman’ is a new film installation commissioned by Alchemy Film & Arts and filmed in the Scottish Borders, with Borders-based horse riders.
The multiscreen video installation, inspired by the deep-rooted history and connection between the Scottish Borders and horses, will be shown 30 March – 12 April on Hawick High Street.
Rhona Mühlebach is an artist and filmmaker based in Glasgow. Influenced by nature and science documentaries, and how we discover the world through them, Rhona is fascinated by incorporating fiction into narration-based video works. This film sees Rhona in character as The Narrator, telling the story of a river, a horse and a woman.
With more horses per head of population in the Scottish Borders than anywhere else in Scotland, as well as a rich heritage of tracks and trails dating back thousands of years and traditional boundary ride-outs taking place annually, horses are as characteristic of the Scottish Borders as its rivers and architecture.
The exhibition opens with a Public Preview and Artist Q&A on 29 March at 6pm, and runs Wednesday – Saturday, 11am – 4pm, until 12 April at 53 High Street, Hawick.
