Táifēng and the Motorway Saint: Film + Q&A
8th September 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Alchemy Film & Arts presents a one-off film screening and Q&A discussion with Mark Lyken, an artist and filmmaker who is currently based in Hawick working on a new film project with local communities.
ABOUT THE FILM
Táifēng and the Motorway Saint, which Mark made in 2018, is a study of three Taiwanese cities and the everyday rituals that play out there during typhoon season.
Amidst the perpetual flow of city life, the film offers time to discover and contemplate the layers and details of everyday life. The film seeks out and dwells upon often unregarded details of place, layering observational footage, local voices, musical improvisation and field recordings to build a visually rich meditation on texture within the context of contemporary Taiwanese life.
