
| heritage hubThe Heritage Hub is part of the Heart of Hawick project and now houses the Scottish Borders Archive and Local History Centre. This state of the art facility allows any visitor to research their Borders heritage and the wider communities of the area.

Resources at the Heritage Hub include:
- Family and local community records
- Census, births, marriages and deaths
- Land ownership from the 16th Century
- Local business records including textile, fishing and farming industries
- Government, law and order, and schools data
- Information on famous Borderers, such as Sir Walter Scott, Mungo Park and James Hogg
Hub staff can help with:

- Guidance on depositing records
- Preservation and storing your own records
- Talks and visits to the archive
- Curriculum sources and education packs

Visiting the Archives The Heritage Hub is open to all, and visitors benefit from a comfortable searchroom with capacity for twenty researchers. When you visit the archive for the first time you will be asked to register: please bring two forms of identification, one of which must be photographic. Booking in advance for research space is advised.
Opening Times: Monday 10am - 4:45pm Tuesday 10am - 7:45pm (Wednesday pre-arranged tours and talks only) Thursday 10am - 7:45pm Friday 10am - 4:45pm Saturday 10am - 4:45pm (closed 1-2pm)
