Cua in Concert – Heart of Hawick: Heart of Music

The folk band Cua feature three brilliant musicians who mix perfect three-part harmony songs along with classic tunes from the Irish tradition.

John Davidson, Shane Booth & Ros O’Meara bring together dynamic and contrasting instrumentation and voices. The group have an expansive acoustic soundscape blending guitars, fiddle, bouzouki, percussion and three part harmony arrangements (that often sounds like more) to create a folk styling that incorporates elements of music from the plains of Ireland to the mountains of Scotland and much farther afield.

This trio stands right at the forefront of contemporary cutting-edge folk, and they have the ability to pull it off. They caused a sensation when they attracted a capacity crowd to their Celtic Connections show in Glasgow and this rare appearance is not to be missed.
