Spacial Transformation: Trompe L’oeil and Mural painting

A presentation by GIANINNA DELPINO and GARY TONGE LATIMER
We are delighted to host a presentation by mural painter Gianinna Delpino and trompe l’oeil artist Gary Tonge Latimer, both experts in this field.
They will show us examples of their work and the processes involved, both in terms of technique and also how they envisage the transformation of surfaces both interior and exterior.
Gianinna Delpino studied Architecture in Chile. Murals were not in her mind until she arrived in London in 2012 where her landlord asked her to paint a mural in the hostel in exchange for her stay. She then met the graffiti artist Morgan Paton in the street in Brixton who was painting murals for Southwark Council. She assisted him in a few projects and then started to paint murals on her own for the council and not long after she was commissioned for interiors and other public spaces in the city.
Encouraged from an early age in fine art, Gary Tonge Latimer later trained as a decorator before launching into a world of specialist broken colour work, faux finishes and mural painting. These skills, collected along the way, perhaps find their most refined expression in the creation of Trompe L’oeil Murals. Gary has enjoyed working with various clients, receiving acclaim both in the UK and Internationally.
